2021 Project Completed

I am not a game designer. You will hear this more than once from me. Understanding I am not a game designer freed me from the delusion that I had to write a game system. I’m sorry. No fantasy heart breakers here. After reading lots of games and dredging through materials saved to my hard drives, I contemplated licenses. This is where I found myself.

I prefer:

• Fantasy games
• Open Licenses and SRD’s
• Free or low cost PDF’s to determine if I want to support a game line.
• Accessible designers or company representatives.

So I chose to focus on early edition versions of the worlds most popular role playing game. I find the fewer rules with simpler systems is much easier for me to modify. I use Basic Fantasy Role-Playing Game as my gaming chassis because it fits my preferences to a T. Check it out. It’s well worth the trip.

In my early gaming life we read all the magazines, supplements, other games we could get our hands on. Then we mixed, matched, and stirred together a mess. I mean we heavily customized our campaigns. My 2021 project was to review all the ideas gleaned from SRD’s, forum discussions, and blog posts. Then put them into coherent form that I can share them with the community.
